About Night Lights

Night Lights Events evoke renewal and inspiration to celebrate life — a reminder of how precious special moments together really are. Sending a decorated lantern into the sky to join thousands of others adorned with hopes, dreams, and messages creates an undeniably profound and unforgettable experience.

You’ll see people cry, pose, pop the question, and celebrate under the lantern-lit skies. You’ll hear joyous laughter and squeals of glee as lanterns are carried together in epic waves of love and light.

Launch Time

Our live countdown will begin sometime between sunset and 90 minutes after sunset. Watch for this in order to have a communal release that results in a breathtaking lantern launch.
Launch times are determined by sunset and weather conditions.

‍The Night Lights Event aims to foster inclusivity, positivity, and renewal.

For us, these events are about more than just releasing a lantern into the sky, watching for a few minutes, and going home— it's an opportunity to connect with people we'd otherwise never meet, to establish intentions, let go of our worries, and interact with the traditions of cultures other than our own.

‍Charity. We give back to local nonprofits that partner with us and deploy volunteers to set up and break down the event.

‍Community. Night Lights brings thousands of people together to share a single life-changing experience. It’s an experience that touches people deeply. We even struggle to put it into words. Night Lights also supports local businesses by hiring local vendors including musical and special performance talent.

Connection. Get closer and reconnect to the people you love in the outdoors. Enjoy campfire vibes, live music, picnic perfection, carnival activities, and a live launch countdown.

‍Celebration. Night Lights is a destination to celebrate and pay tribute to all kinds of milestones, life events, and memories. Turn to your right to see a marriage proposal, and to the left to a gaggle of friends and family roasting s’mores. There is always a reason to celebrate life, to be reminded of your reasons here.

Night Lights is largely weather-dependent as we are an outdoor event.

There are 3 forces instrumental to putting on a magical sky lantern event.​

1. Mother Nature. She can get windy.
2. The Fire Marshal. We need his approval to legally let lanterns fly!
3. The Venue. They’re our temporary home in your community.
   

Lanterns do not fly safely or correctly in high winds. If the wind projection is too high, we are unable to launch. Lanterns do not fly in rainy weather, either. This seems pretty explanatory but we want to make sure you understand that we are reliant upon favorable weather conditions to hold the launch.

We won't proceed with the launch until we receive clearance from local fire authorities. This is a necessary safety precaution, and non-negotiable. We will never put participants or the environment at risk!

Reschedule Dates & Weather Protection

‍‍If for any reason we need to postpone our launch date, we will announce a make-up date. If you can't attend the make-up date, we will transfer your tickets to another Night Lights event of your choice. You can also claim a refund if you purchase "Weather and COVID-19 Protection" during checkout for $5 per ticket.
